Summer is coming, how to store your duvet properly?
1. Hang out for drying before storage
It is suggested that the duvet should be hung up for drying before storing. As there must be moisture left inside the duvet during using in the whole winter, no menthion there is inevitably a certain amount of oil and fat remained on the feather and down when production. Storage without drying will bring microbe breeding problem and make the duvet smelly.
But pls avoid exposure in the sun for long time.
2. Flap for uniform filling before storage
There is a small filling hole in each square of the duvet, through which, the down may move from one to another impacted by external forces during using. During the drying process, we can check which squares are thicker, and which are thinner, we can adjust it by flapping for uniform filling in each square.
3. Plastic bags are not suggested for duvet storage
Some people would like to use plastic bags for duvet storage for moisture proofing purpose, which is not suggested. As BHT antoxidant might be contained in some plastic bags, on which phenolic yellowing may happen while in high temperature or moisture. The duvet cover may turn to be brownish after that.
4. Do not use vaccum package
Although there is no actual research showing how much filling power will be lost when the duvet is vacuumed, the compressing process may more or less break or damage the feaher or down filled inside.
